Keep these 4 things in mind when you feel like your tank is on empty.

Burning the midnight oil might not be as effective as you think. If you rest, then tackle a project with a fresh mind you might get it done a lot faster than if you stayed up all night to “knock it out.”
2. Sleeping Beauty
Beauty rest is a real thang. A study done by UCLA researchers revealed that just one night of insufficient sleep can cause an older adult’s cells to age faster. Study here
So instead of spending all your money on 5-hour energy drinks and botox, take a nap instead!
3. Your Mother Was Right
Ever heard the phrase, "it’ll look better in the morning?" It’s actually true. Going, going, going can make us anxious and mentally unstable. When your mind has had proper rest, the anxiety you had around a thought or situation will naturally decrease, giving you a more focused and logical perspective.
4. Muffin Top
When we’re on-the-go for extended periods of time it’s hard to eat healthfully. We reach for sugar and carbs for that quick spike of energy to give us a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th wind. Of course it will eventually catch up with us (and our waste line) doing more harm that good. A quiet day off allows time to cook at home or go to your favorite restaurant for a nice meal. Then you can live it up like the Europeans and savor every bite instead of saying "check please" when the food comes.

As a society of doers, we are always on the move. Can’t sleep? Do this, this, and this to make it better. Instead of DOING something to solve the problem, nothing could be the most effective action to take. If you’re a busybody, schedule rest in your calendar so you can get that rush of crossing it off the list with a rested mind.
